I Love Color!

COLOR....
I love lots of color in most things,
but sometimes I like things very neutral.
These paintings are full of color
and although they are not "great" art,
I just love them.
They were created by a doctor friend of mine.
He paints for relaxation he told me.
They are all scenes from the local area.
Please enlarge to get the full effect,
by clicking on each picture.

Do you like color,
or neutrals?
What is your favorite color?

There are lots of theorys about color,
and how it affects our
mind, body and spirit.
The color red makes us eat more,
blue is cooling,
yellow is happy, etc.

I love the Italian and Mexican color palette.
Neutrals are soothing to me,
but color makes me happy,
makes my creativity leap,
and also is very exciting.
I am redoing my studio,
and I may choose a great color for the walls,
or I may go neutral.

I think there is a need for
both color and neutrals in my life.
For instance,
in my bedroom,
the color pallette is neutral and very soothing and restful.
But in other areas of my home
I love the colors of a sunset!
I've been known to have terra cotta colored walls.
So, how does color affect you?
What are your favorite paintings and why?
What color is your studio?
What color do you wear most often?

Adding color to your life
 is one way you can....
Savor the Day!

great post! I do love color, but I usually work in monochroma, I don't know why it is just what I gravitate to!! but I love colorful landscapes!

I just love all colors, these days. And how colors change in the different light of the day. :)Bea

I kinda want it all. The colour, the soothing neutrals. I have set aside my sitting room which connects the dining room, kitchen and has door to the bathroom as my designated neutral spot. It also has a big patio door overlooking the 'bush'. It is my outdoors brought indoors and my spot to relax. I had lots of colour and 'stuff' in my sewing/playroom but I've since discovered that my ideas are stimulous enough so I'm going with a calming light periwinkle assortment with lots of white and some medium to light limey greens to keep it interesting. For the rest I want COLOUR!

I love color and when I am creating quilts I use lots of color. Our living room is pink and white - it suits the room ( though it is in serious need of repainting now) I just don't know what color I would choose to repaint it.
I love van Gogh and Emily Carr (Canadian Painter). As well my favorite painters are the Impressionists and a Canadian group called the Group of Seven.

I am also fond of green and blue for calming colors...
Happy weekend...

On our trip to the Panhandle, there was lots of color. Red dirt, golden fields, green trees, yellow, pink and purple flowers and the clear blue sky. Very beautiful. It was neat to see the colors of the canyons change with the light too, like Bea said.

I feel as if I was walking behind you and your photos invited me in to enjoy the moment. Simply lovely words and images to weave a poem in my heart. Imagine and Live in peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
