I am always looking to try something new.
It keeps life interesting.
(one of my gypsy art dolls)
Myself and a friend (Karen), are planning a dinner
for our husbands and ourselves,
using 'new to us' recipes.
We are so lucky to have husbands who will be willing
to try anything with us.
We have both had food from the Middle East
but are looking
for a new recipe,
especially after shopping at the
Middle Eastern market the other day.
(the OM symbol)
My question to all of you is....
Do you have a favorite recipe from India or the Middle East?
If so, would you share the recipe,
or offer a link to find good recipes from India?
(Ganesh)
Thank you in advance,
and I will let you know how the meal turns out.
One more way to...
Savor the Day!
Yvonne

Perhaps you can find some good eastern food to cook at the link.
No matter where you pick, enjoy your dinner with your husbands. Great idea too. O love your gypsy lady too.
Thanks Gloria, will check it out and let you know.
Beautiful gypsy doll.
The only thing I make that's middle eastern is Humus.
Here's how I make it
1 can chick peas (peel each pea..a hassle but it comes out nice and smooth)Save some of the liquid. Smash chick peas with a spoon until fairly smooth.
2 large tablespoons of Tahini.
The juice of 2 large lemons.
Lots of garlic powder (to taste)
A generous amount of cumin (gives humus its distinctive taste)
Dash salt and pepper.
Add more lemon juice or the liquid from the chick peas to make smoother.
Mmmm, I haven't made it in ages. Now I want it! It's great with all kinds of raw veggies, and crackers.
Thanks Barbara. I will try your recipe for sure!
No recipes to share, but I absolutely love your gypsy doll face. Just had to say that! :)
I love the quote at the top of your blog. It was also good to see the Om symbol. Your dinner will be fabulous-be sure to post it.
I love your gypsy woman,,,she is spectacular! Happy 4th of July! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
