Tea day art doll

I hope all of you are staying cool out there.
It has really been hot and dry here in south Texas.
I try to get out early,
take my walk and work in the yard.
Then it is inside stuff for me,
whether it is creating at home,
or going to indoor activities elsewhere.
By evening it is starting to cool off again,
just a bit,
so my DH and I are sitting in our backyard swing,
enjoying the breeze,
watching the birds,
and listening to
the sound of the cicadas.

What do you do when it is HOT outside?

Yesterday I created a polymer clay art doll.
This doll will hang on my wall.

She is 16 inches tall and 6 inches wide.

Sticks, fabric, yarn, wire and a feather were used,
and
I used acrylics to paint her.

Today IS tea day...
Every morning I still drink my homemade chai.
I just love this stuff!
Just the process of grinding up all the spices etc.
is something I enjoy.
It makes me slow down and enjoy the little things.
It starts my day out right.

After my one or two cups of chai,
it is iced water, iced tea or lemonade from then on.
The main thing is to keep hydrated in this heat.

Visit Kimmie and find out
what all the tea bloggers
are up to.

Savor the Day!
Yvonne

I love your doll! So alive!

It looks like you make your own chai! How fantastic!

I have a nice set of something I spied at my mil's. Would love to have you visit!

Fondly,
Suz

I started out with hot tea earlier, but is now quite warm although has clouded over--I'm cooling off after mowing 1/2 the lawn :) with a glass of lemonaide!
Happy Tea Tuesday :)

What a cute doll! So creative, Yvonne! Making your own chai tea does indeed look like a throwback to some bygone era, thus very peaceful. Enjoy!

Like you, it is hot here, too. It doesn't cool down at night, though. It was 86F at 11:30 pm, so no sitting outside at night anytime soon for me.

Your art doll is adorable. Really like the look on her face and her waving hand. I know I'm late getting here, but happy belated Tea Tuesday.

Good morning Yvonne :)
Your doll is so cheerful .... I love that she has a hand imprint on her belly
I know what you mean about makiing something that isn't "instant." there is a certain gratification that comes in the process of making it by hand
Your art doll and the chai tea have a theme of "hands" I think :)

Happy Tuesday (on Wednesday!), Kimmie
