Thoughts for the New Year

As 2010 comes to an end
and with 2011 just around the corner,
many thoughts go through my mind.
I thought of my most recent trip
with my sister.
It was to the
Big Bend National Park
 in west Texas, so
I decided to change my header photo
to one I took out there on the trip.
I was up in the,
what they call "the basin",
looking out "the window".
I had just had a very healthy meal,
and was sitting, relaxed,
enjoying the most beautiful view,
which looked down into
Terlingua.
This photo is now up to remind me daily
of the following,
for the new year.....
enjoy the little things,
relax and don't be stressed out,
get out in the outdoors more often,
be with family as often as I can,
eat healthier,
see the beauty that is around me,
walk more,
be inspired,
create from what inspires me,
look more closely,
listen intently,
use all my senses to the fullest,
learn something new every day,
have an open heart,
and
savor each day!

Wishing you all a
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Tea Gifts

Happy Tea on Tuesday everyone!
Hope your holiday was wonderful.

I'm slowly getting plugged back in...
and felt I couldn't miss todays' Tea on Tuesday
that Kimmie sponsors every week.
Hope you visit her to see the other bloggers
who participate.
Just look on her sidebar.

For todays Tea on Tuesday
I am having
Ambrosia Plum white tea
by
Zhena's Gypsy Tea.
I'm having it in a new tea cup
I received as a gift
from my friend Brenda.
The cup has a strainer and lid
and I just love it!
Thank you Brenda!

Let me tell you about this wonderful tea.
The tea is a gift
I received from my daughter Amy.
The tea came in sip sampler stacking tins.
They are fair trade, organic round tea sachets.
Each tells how much caffeine it has, if any.
There is
Rasberry Earl black tea
Egyptian Mint green tea
Ambrosia Plum white tea
and
Italian Chamomile herbal tea.
Each one is delicious.
I'm not sure I could pick a favorite.

The tin lid says,
Infused with Health and Happiness.
I love their gypsy logo too.
Visit them at

Oh, did you notice the handmade picture frame above?
The one with the red dragonfly on it?
That was another gift from my daughter Amy.
I love it!
Thank you Amy.
I couldn't decide which photo to put in it,
so I put a quote....
I return to the basics of life:
forgiveness, courage, gratitude, love and humor.
--Louise L. Hay

Hope you return to the basics of life
and
continue to...
Savor the Day!

It seems there's a "spirit"........

...and even a longing
that comes with the Christmas season,
that's deeply felt
even among people
with no religious connection.
I think
great religious symbols
have tremendous power
to symbolize for people
things that they can't quite
 put in words.
Somehow
listening to Christmas carols
while you are at the mall,
can tug at your heart.
You get to thinking
that there must be more
to something than meets the eye,
 there must be something more
going on here
but I can't quite
 put my finger on it.
 I'm still looking
for something about Christmas
that meets my own sense
 of nostalgia or hope.
It could be
that all holidays do that
 at their best.
They aren't just holy days.
They're also
something that grows up
in the human heart
and invites us
out on the streets
or just sitting at home quietly
 with the candles lit
at Christmas Eve.

Still mostly unplugged

The Mexican Green Jays are back
and I have been enjoying them so much.
I have been taking my own advice
and really savoring the days
in this most precious season.

A few weeks ago,
I made a decision to slow down
and savor the holidays more,
with family and friends.
This meant for me to be
UNPLUGGED...
for the most part.

I still read some posts from
 my very, very favorite blogs.
I have my tea every morning
and count my blessings.
You are one of those.

I hope you are
taking time out for
YOU,
doing what makes you most happy
and less stressed.

Stay warm,
be creative when your muse strikes,
relax,
and don't forget
to
Savor the Day
your way!

Happy Holiday Season
to all of you!

Announcements

Hi everyone,

I wanted to let you all know the following......
I will be selling my creations at my local Trade Days and at local art galleries only. My online Attic Shoppe will be closed.   I appreciate all of you who supported me at the Attic Shoppe.

For a time now, I have been taking a break from the computer and not posting much, as you know.  I just needed a bit of a computer fast and wanted to slow down for this holiday season.

Visiting your blogs is still something I really enjoy, and reading about all the creativity that is happening inspires me to get busy again.  I will be getting a second wind here soon and will be posting more often.

Hope you all are having a great holiday season.
I have really missed everyone.  Isn't it amazing how attached one can get to online friends.  :)

Savor the Day!
