PPF--week 9

Last week I posted three of my CD cover ideas
that I am doing for a client.
The gospel CD idea, by the client,
was to be an angel on a hymnal page.
So I painted it, got your wonderful input,
got my instructors input, studied on it,
painted several more pieces, and this week came up with this.

This one is slightly different...
This time I started painting on paper the size of the CD,
4.75 by 4.75 inches.
First I tried making the halo transparent
and the background just a watermark.
It was still too much clutter, so I decided to
just have the hymnal page on her face.
The halo looked best gold, as I tried it just about every color.
I also tried the background almost every color,
but I really like the purple.
I was going to show you every one of my attempts,
but there were a lot of them, and most of them looked terrible.
Another thing I changed was,
I tilted her head.
My instructor noticed right away that she looked too much
like a keyhole before.

So what do you think?
Better?  Worse?  Wasting my time?  :)

I am still working on making the other two covers better also,
but blogger would not let me download those pics tonight.
So maybe next week.

In the meantime, go enjoy the other
Paint Party Friday art works and
don't forget to...

Savor the Day!

I like her the way she is now! and the tilt to her head gives her a little more relaxed air. Hope your band likes her too! Happy PPF!

She's wonderful. After a long career designing cd covers, I can swear that the rejected ones are usually the best.

I had to go back and see your first attempt. I think it's much better with the head tilt and the words just on the face.
Very serene and lovely!

The tilted head seems better. It's a great idea, her face with a music page. Very creative. Have a great weekend.

So much better with the music only on er face and neck, and tilting her head was a brilliant idea! I liked her before but I LOVE this now!

I like this one better because her head and neck seem more relaxed, but I really like seeing "amazing grace" behind her head on the other one. These are great! Faces are hard.

Don't know about better or worse, have been away and can't get all the missed posts in; BUT, I do know that I like this very much! I'm sure they are all great.

Thanks for your comments. I believe this angel will be the one I summit to the client for the gospel CD. I will keep working on the other two. Thanks again.
