Art is everywhere you look for it...

Art is everywhere and in many things,
from paintings, jewelry, clothing, furniture and more.
I recently joined the local art league,
and we are showing our art at
the Blue Quail Designs galleria downtown.
The Blue Quail sells jewelry, boots and more.
The jewelry and even the boots are all beautiful examples of art.
I will try to get photos of each in the future.

You can see art everywhere!
Even in the signage of shops,
the shop window displays etc.
The Blue Quail is right next to the King Ranch Saddle Shop,
where the famous King Ranch sells not only saddles,
but beautiful clothes, furniture, jewelry,
pottery and much much more.
All pieces of art in their own right.
_________

The Conner museum quilt show is winding down.
All quilts are art as well, whatever size or media they happen to be.

The other day I took some of my local stitching friends
to the show, and while there, a friend from Mexico
(Loudves, I'm sure I"m not spelling your name right)
 came in.
She paints on fabric and adds beautiful ribbon work to the design.
Another type of beautiful art and design.

Here is a close up of her work.
The photo does not do it justice,
but the 3D ribbon work is so delicate and beautiful.
Her paint colors are very bright and bold.

If you would like to know more about ribbon embroidery
I don't know many who do this type of work anymore.

I see art everywhere I go,
and I'm just amazed!

“Art is everywhere you look for it,
hail the twinkling stars
for they are God's careless splatters”

― El Greco

Aren't you glad there is art everywhere? Think of what our world would be like without it. Sometimes I worry that we may be headed that way with all the new technology..hopefully art will still abound in the future and not just be seen in the galleries.

The ribbon artwork is extraordinary. New shop looks interesting as well. Have fun with your art this weekend!

The ribbon art is super! Love the El Greco quotation too.

What an artful and joyful post! Your reminder to see and take in the beauty of art where ever we go is a great one. That ribbon embroidery is so beautiful!!
I am happy that embroidery is making a bit of a comeback, but I don't know about this kind of ribbon work....that takes a very special artful hand. Cheers!

I just love the colors and hats and flowers in your friend's ribbon embroidery. And I envy your proximity to the King Ranch Saddle Shop. I miss the smells and textures of a good saddle shop.

Her work is beautiful. Our last fiber art meeting was supposed to be on ribbon embroidery but I wasn't able to go. Hope you have a great trip. Best wishes, Tammy

This work is amazing to see and makes me want to be able to touch and hold. Art is exploding around us if we take the time to pause and really see. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
