"Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all."
---Emily Dickinson
This is my painting
for this weeks
Paint Party Friday
HOPE
I like quotes and seem to add them to many of my pieces.
Below is what she looked like before the quote was added.
What do you think?
Words or no words?
Savor the Day!

Love how you've illustrated the quote Yvonne. Happy PPF, Annette x
This is the 2nd time this week the Hope poem has come up ~ think I better pay attention ~ LOL

She is really beautiful. I prefer the no words version. Happy PPF
I try to add a little story to some of my paintings. It's fun to do that and I like what you did and the words that go with it. Nice job! Happy PPF!
it's difficult to give my opinion, but you ask... so here it's an idea... I love your HOPE painting, and I like the idea with the words, ...the white background in the words are distracting me from the main subject, so maybe if you add the words very subtle around the head in the blue space..and with out the white background... just my thoughts out loud.
Art is very subjective and at the end you have to do what you love and please you... I hope I did not get very nosey... :S
Happy PPF!
So beautiful and peaceful! I like the version with the words, little messages from the soul...but either way this piece touches the soul!
Tears of hope... a very meaningful piece. I love quotes, but I think her face gets more attention without the words.
OH, and I wanted to tell you that your sculptures are absolutely unique and fantastic!
I like the quote, but the painting itself is so striking, and can mean so many different different things if there are no words.
I prefer sim words, the image already contains your message. Saludos
beautiful piece inspiring word
Oooh, I really like her! You have beautiful paintings. I'm a word girl myself, so I like the quote added.

Great painting! I love text on paintings. I'm not good at it but I love seeing it! Happy PPF!
Great illustration of the quote and I love the background especially... it is such a beautiful mix of colour and texture...xx
This is one of my favorite poems! I did a small series based on it last year (you can see it here http://debbiesmithart.blogspot.com/2011/07/mixed-media-collage-series.html).
I love the words to this poem so much, so I'd like to see them in your composition in some way. Maybe finding a way to do a gel transfer of them? They create a new line/shape, so maybe finding a way to blend more with the lines and shapes in the rest of the composition? Anyway, your painting is beautiful already. OK, too much advice. I'll stop!!! :)
Happy PPF. I think I like it without the words altho I love that poem. Thanks for your comment on my blog.
I like it both ways. Whichever way pleases you the most is the best way. :) I love the heron painting below, too!
That's a tough one. I like the look of the words, but they might distract from the face, which I assume is your main focal point. Thank you for stopping by my site.
Words....love them, and they add to the painting perfectly!!
Hugs Giggles
ps.....I may be bias since I love words so much!!
