New watercolors

I am blessed to be able to take
watercolor classes from a wonderful
local artist,
Dolores Price.
This year we are studying an artist
by the name of
Shirley Trevena,
who is very abstract in style.
For homework this last week
we were to do studies of her demos,
from any of her books.
The book I am working out of is called
Vibrant Watercolors---Shirley Trevena
Here are three of my attempts.......

Trevena has another book called
Breaking the Rules,
and she does just that,
loving blooms and 'mistakes'.

Here is another painting I worked on yesterday,
combining watercolor and acrylics.

This is from the book
Watercolor Unleashed
by Julie Pollard.

Hope you have a wonderful
and creative week.

Savor the Day!
Yvonne

All your paintings are wonderful, but I have to say my jaw dropped when I saw the last one. The light effect in the center of the flower is absolutely amazing! How I wish I could paint like that.

Wow, Yvonne, all these watercolors are so beautiful. And your mix of watercolor and acrylic looks amazing. What wonderful work you are doing!

I have never heard of mixing watercolor with acrylic, but you should do more to that. The effect is one of depth, and so lovely!
