For homework this week,
my watercolor instructor
told us to set up a still life
and paint it,
using some loose,
Shirley Trevena style techniques.
I used my Raku pot, a glass mug,
and two apples that I had.
I placed these on a linen piece I bought
in Italy a few years ago.
I took this photo, and printed it out in
greyscale to use as a tracing.
Here is my finished still life painting.
Savor the Day!

Your painting is so much more interesting and beautiful than the photo. I especially like your apples. :)
Sorry, wasn't finished. ;) I think the apples are the focal point in your painting, probably because of your color palette, whereas they fight a bit in the photo with the pitcher and mug for whichever is to be the focal point. Perfect to have a more clear focal point!
Love your watercolor. you did an awesome job!!
Wow! That's gorgeous! :)
Beautiful painting. I love the colours! I agree that the painting is much nicer than the photo. Lovely depth to it.
