It was my 60th birthday on the 2nd
and seems like I celebrated for a week
for this, for what I considered, a milestone birthday.
The weeks prior to my birthday I was doing lots of serious reflection and
after all that seriousness... I surprised everyone and...
I got a tattoo. LOL
Can't be too serious you know! :)
If you follow my blog you will know why
I chose a red dragonfly,
and why it is significant to me.
On another note...I had more surprises for my birthday.
My husband surprised me with a little birthday trip
up the coast to the lovely little town of Palacios, Tx.
We found a little historical waterfront B&B called
The Peaceful Pelican.
This was our sunrise, out our
2nd floor room.
Our 2 day stay was wonderful!
Then the weekend following our trip,
we had wall to wall family,
(which was also a surprise)
for a couple of days,
and we loved every minute of it.
They brought the food, they cooked,
we laughed, stayed up late,
and just had a wonderful time together.
I feel that being 60 is great!
WHY?....
Well....in my 60 years,
I've learned to...
... focus on the positive, joyful,
fullfilling and good things in my life.
AND...
...to not take things so seriously all the time,
to have a little more fun
AND...
... to accept myself and others more fully and completely.
ALSO...
I have grown into myself, and
I know who I really am now.
Mainly...
I have learned to...
Savor the Day!

I love this post! I'm almost ten years older (July) and still haven't learned all that you have, but I try. Also, I still don't have a tattoo! ;) Sounds like a wonderful celebration, and I'll be on the edge of my seat to see how you celebrate when you catch up to me and are facing the big 70. Perhaps a bigger tattoo?! Happy Birthday, friend!
Congrats on the Big Six-Oh! Sounds like you had a wonderful extended celebration . . . and the new tat just tops it off!

Oh happy birthday. I treated myself to a tattoo for my fortieth so I understand why you did that. You chose a lovely design. But beware. They are quite addictive. :)
Happy Birthday! It sounds like it was (and is) a wonderful one! Your dragonfly is so pretty ..... I bet it looks super cute with flip flops :)
What a great post! May all your days be a celebration of life :)
I'm behind in my blog reading (again) and of course am now very belated in wishing you a very happy birth day. Sounds like you celebrated it in grand style!!
