I can hardly believe it's the middle of May already.
Mother's Day was wonderful here,
hope it was for you too.
We are finally getting a bit of rain,
and my Sage on the side of the house shows it.
The saying goes....
when the sage blooms like this,
you will receive rain within three days.
This time it was true.
I planted a passion vine on our new fence.
It's already blooming.
This is one of the blooms,
and it has about 5 more buds right now.
But there is some kind of caterpillar on the vine.
Anyone know what this is?
My poor hibiscus only blooms one bloom at a time.
It was trampled on and eaten on before we got the fence up,
so I guess it's good that it's even alive.
______________
As far as what I'm reading now....
well... I was reading
Living on the Spine,
but it gets pretty graphic (sexually) several times in the book,
so I've put it down for now.
I'm not a prude or anything,
but I was expecting something else from that book.
I thought it was about her adventures of living in the wild.
I guess I better read the reviews better next time. LOL
It's not a bad book, just different.
Some of her words about the birds and the mountains are like poetry,
so I do enjoy that part about it.
Oh well....
Now I'm reading
Still Here
by Ram Dass.
He wrote it after he had a stroke,
so it is pretty interesting so far.

The class is how to make your own
Santos Cage Dolls.
Starts May 27th, if you are interested.
Should be lots of fun.
And it's only nineteen dollars.

Hope you are enjoying your May days!
Savor the Day!

The blooms are lovely. Especially love the passion vine! Gorgeous.
Your photographs are simply breath taking...and where did you find a class for less than twenty dollars??? I am getting ready to take a trip ...for one week I will be away and I plan on working with pencil and paper in a journal while I am in Phoenix. I hope to see a passion vine soon. Have a great week! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
That is one spiky looking caterpillar! Never ever seen anything like that up here.
Incredibly beautiful and vibrant Passion flower vine! Your NJ bay sea glass shards are on the way. :)
The passion vine bloom is so awesome! What crazy different details all in one flower.
Love what's blooming at your house Yvonne...that Passion flower is amazing...we have one not quite as fancy that actually over wintered here in VA...a mockingbird built a nest there before I could trim away the dead bits
I bet your Santos class will be super...I have always Loved those and did try my hand at one, but she is missing a face

I love the picture of the hibiscus bloom. Just from a quick google search, I think your caterpillar friend is a Gulf Fritillary. I'm going to look up the Santos Cage Dolls now because I have no idea what that is.
Do you make hibiscus tea? maybe with only one bloom at a time it's kind of hard to do. I'm with you on graphic writing - it can be such a distraction - and the less said, the better in my opinion.
Your flowers are beautiful and I'm so envious that you are reading a book. I always mean to and never make the time anymore. Someday!

omigosh Yvonne - I was watching the slideshow of your work and you have so many beautiful pieces. I particularly love the butterfly hovering over the garden. What a stunning piece.
Thanks for popping over today.
Happy Saturday xox
I love your photos and your creativity! Just a note re the caterpillar on your passion flower vine. The passion flower vine is the host plant for butterflies called "fritillaries". They are beautiful to see, and live only on these vines. I have a different variety, a large purple passion flower, which is the host for Gulf fritillaries. Not sure which frit type will come from your caterpillar, but it will be a beauty!
Well, I just managed to lose at least a half an hour of time! Made the delightful mistake of popping over to visit Jennifer's blog and promptly got sucked into her world. Can't wait to see what you create in her class!
oh gosh... loved Ram Dass... remember reading this book ... and love seeing all your blooms, just lovely
