The Santos Cage Dolls history
goes back to the 17th and 18th centuries.
You can learn how to make them,
just like I did,
by taking Jennifer Rizzo's online class
through Jennifer Oliver's ning site.
She also offers many more classes,
of a wide variety,
and all are very affordable.
The doll class was only 19 dollars.
Some other classes are as little as ten dollars,
so go check them out.
Here are two of the Santos dolls I have made so far.
They stand about 21 inches tall.

Barbara, actually I used a paper mache bust and air dry paper clay over a paper mache egg for the head. It's a great class.
They look like they're singing. Part of an angelic choir perhaps?

I created Santos dolls a few years ago and they look very similar to the ones you have done. They were a lot of fun to make weren't they? What have you placed on yours? Some people put nests and others jewelry. I have a bit of everything on mine. I added some beads to the actual dolls as well.

Those Santos dolls are beautiful. You do such lovely work, anyway. These are two wonderful dolls. Hope to see you soon in blogland.
