Patience

Being in any life transition is hard.
Selling a house, moving, new job...whatever.
All can be hard and can try one's patience.
Patience is something I've been cultivating for a long time and
I believe I have progressed over the years.
All in all,
I'm a pretty 'laid back' person.
Of course, I still have my moments of impatience.

Patience.....
what is it exactly?
The dictionary says....
"The capacity to accept or at least tolerate
things like
delay, trouble, or suffering...
without getting angry
or upset."

That means not to hold anger in
and pretend you aren't upset...
it means to really not be upset.
Patience is actually good for your health.

Do you remember these sayings???
"Patience is a virtue"
or
"Don't sweat the small stuff...
and it's all small stuff!"
or
the old Dutch proverb,
"A handful of patience is worth more than
a bushel of brains."
or
my favorite one by Emerson,
"Adopt the pace of Nature:
Her secret is patience."

Whenever I had to wait in line,
or got stuck in traffic etc.
my dad would always tell me
that it was teaching me patience.

Susan Bird-Harris wrote a good article
on learning patience....

Gypsy Soul? Mover or Stayer?

I have always heard
that Americans are moving house
more than any other country.
Why are some of us
 'restless and rootless'
put it?

I possess a
gypsy soul
as I am prone to
wandering
and just can't seem to stay put.

I found the perfect necklace...
a hammered silver spoon
with the words
'gypsy soul'
stamped into it.

So,
are you a mover
or a stayer...
and why?

Continued saga on
my 'moving gypsy soul'
coming soon...
in future posts.

I'm really trying to....

Stressful to Stressless

Summer has been busy for me.
All kinds of things have been going on,
but the main thing is
WE ARE MOVING!
It is our choice
to make this change,
so don't worry,
all is well and good.

I won't go into detail right now, but...

It's a new beginning...
another adventure!

Moving house can be
one of the most stressful times
a person can experience,
or you can just make up your mind
to go with the flow.
I've moved many times
in my almost 60 years,
and I do mean MANY.
I do have to admit
that this time it's more emotionally
and physically harder.
(Gee that couldn't be because of my age :) teehee))

We have had a settled life now
for 4 years.
That's a long time in my book...
but now it is time to say goodbye and move on...
once again.

These are the things I've learned
in my many moves...
1. start early when it comes to
getting organized for the move

2. learn to let go of things, learn what is essential,
learn what is dear to your heart

3.Don't store things long,
if the time spent in storage
will end up costing more than just replacing it.

4. to declutter is actually a zen like feeling.

5. think of moving as a new adventure.

6. Breathe! Relax! Enjoy!

7. Never say Never!

Hope you come back to visit,
(as the saga continues),
leave comments,
and let me know your
experiences in moving.

The BIG thing I've learned
in my many moves is that
you really MUST...

Delicious ambiguity

Some stories don’t have
a clear beginning,
 middle
and end.
Life is about not knowing,
having to change,
 taking the moment
and making the best of it,
without knowing
what’s going to happen next.
Delicious ambiguity.

Journey

Sometimes your journey
 will take you
off of your path.

It's all part
of the same trip.
