You have to know how to listen.....

I love big old trees, don't you!
I came across this one up in the sand hills of central Texas.
It's an oak and at least 8 feet in diameter, maybe more.
Big old trees like this one can talk,
but you have to know how to listen.

Advice from a Tree...
Sink your roots deeply into the Earth
Reflect the light of a greater source
Think long term
Go out on a limb
Remember your place among all living beings
Embrace with joy the changing seasons
For each yields its own abundance
The Energy and Birth of Spring
The Growth and Contentment of Summer
The wisdom to let go of leaves in the Fall
The Rest and Quiet Renewal of Winter.

Below is an old building crying out to be painted in a picture.
I may try this one in watercolor
for my upcoming new classes with Dolores Price.

This building was originally a school house in a little Texas
German community
called Denhawken.
Later on it was many other things,
including a dance hall (my husband and I went dancing there once).
There is more building behind what you see here,
but it consumed by brush and trees.

Empty old buildings can talk,
but you have to know how to listen.

Savor the Day!
