Hibernation Tea and a Walk

 For tea day today,
I am having raspberry tea,
while hibernating indoors
away from this awful heat.

It is so hot and dry here!
This photo shows how dry the ground is.
Everything is crispy underfoot
and cracks like this are showing up everywhere.

I got back from my trip on Sunday,

One thing I do like to do on my trips
is to find labyrinths to walk.
I go to
 http://labyrinthsociety.org/
and click on
Labyrinth Locator.
I walked this labyrinth in San Antonio
early one morning,
when the sun was just coming up.

A labyrinth is not a maze.
It has only one path,
a winding passage that leads to a central space in the center
 and back out again.
The labyrinth was used in Europe by medieval Christians and pilgrims.
Today, people of all faiths may experience their own pilgrimage.

There are three stages of the Walk...
Release
...the art of walking quiets and empties the mind.
Illumination
...is the place where you allow yourself to receive guidance,
a place of prayer and meditation.
Union
...each time you walk
you can become healed and strengthened
for your walk in the world.

You can go within the soul and open the heart.
Walking a labyrinth always leaves me
with a sense of peace and healing.

Hi Yvonne! I have never walked a labrynth but have always wanted to. The act of contemplative intentional walking seems so peaceful to me. Thank you for the link, I'm going to see where the nearest labrynth is!

I've heard of labrynths but never outside the sci-fi world. How interesting. I always learn something when I visit.

Our world is nearly as dry and equally as hot as yours, although I think you have set several records over the weekend and this week already from what I heard on TV. Here it more than likely will go down as the hottest summer EVER on record with only two 100 F or higher days before we break the old record set in 1936.

Have a great Tea Tuesday. How did your chai ice cream turn out?

I almost forgot about the chai ice cream Elizabeth. Thanks for reminding me. When I make it I will surely post about it. It sure sounds good about now.

I always learn something new when I visit your blog :)
I had no idea about labyrinths - and how neat that you can plan ahead to visit one when traveling. A much calmer thing to visit than a crowded museum or monument. I really like that.

I know you are used to the heat and dryness .... But I hope you do get some relief soon. Cracks in the ground would be very disconcerting .... We get spontaneous bogs sinkholes instead - equally disconcerting :)

THAT is dry ground. How hard for you. I've never met anyone who searches out labyrinths. Very interesting!

That's some dry earth. Hope it cools down for you sometime soon.

I've walked a couple of labyrinths; always a good experience.
