Spirit, Strength, Feminity of Woman
(16 in. by 20 in.)
is my submission for Week 30 at
I love the use of stencils for background designs.
Real lace was used as a stencil for her veil.
I didn't paint her to look realistic,
but I was happy how she turned out.
Most of my mixed media pieces have a quote
or words added to them.
Is feminity a word?
Not sure about that one.
Contrast is also important.
Here the brick(ish) and wrought iron background,
vs. the lace veil and rose.
Hope you visit PPF because now
there are more than 60 blog participants
showing some very creative art pieces.

I love how happy she seems in her womanhood. I think there is a word 'femininity' not sure if that is the right spelling! I like that you used actual lace to stencil the lace in her veil!
She is beautiful and looks very peacefull. :)
Love how you did the background and she seems to have a spiritual feel to her ~ mystical maybe ~ thanks,Happy PPF ~ namaste, Carol ^_^ (Share the Creative Journey)
I really like the way you let her be unrealistic and I LOVE made up words! Also, the background is a beautiful contrast to rest of the piece; both in color and texture...great job!
Happy PPF,
Stephanie
She is lovely. I also love using stencils and masks in my backgrounds.
I love woman who embrace all sides of their nature - and recognize that strength is such a feminine quality despite what society tends to think!
Just gorgeous!
Love the vibrant colors!!
Happy PPF!!

She looks great. Love the use of real lace for stenciling. She does look feminine.
Femininity (also called womanliness or womanhood) is a set of attributes, behaviors, and roles generally associated with girls and women. (from Wikpedia)
Have a great weekend.
She is fabulous! You captured her essence beautifully!
I love the background. Stencils, I do that somewhat on the cloth dolls but didn't think about the ACEO/ATC cards. GADZ, good thought. Thank you. Thank you for visiting my blog. Blessings, Janet
Very beautiful. I love the contrasts. They really add to the painting.
She looks so serene. That background just adds all kinds of extra fabulousness.
the veil came out beautifully and great contrast against the background!

I love her...she looks so satisfied...so much character...wonderful...xxx
I agree that the contrast between the the background and her soft features works really well. And the deep reds of the background pattern tie in with her lips and the rose in her hair. very nice!
Very Peaceful, great background!!
Happy ppf! Great idea with the lace!!

The words (real or not) seem to perfectly describe this serene lady.
A lovely piece and the background is a great complementary contrast.
