Every Wednesday I attend a watercolor class,
full of lessons, inspiration and fun!
Today was no different.
I recently painted my first landscape,
and got it critiqued today.
Now this is how it looks.
You may have seen it before, in a couple of posts back
As per Dolores' instructions,
I loosened up the foreground flowers,
added some purple to the water
and that's about it.
It sure made a difference.
I will be practicing more landscapes soon.
------
Today I also did some ink pourings, 4 total.
Next week I will do some negative watercolor painting on top of them.
Click below to see one I did last year and more about how I did it.
-----
We are also doing still life paintings.
Here is what Dolores set up for us.
We can do the whole thing, or just part.
There's different textures, different backgrounds etc.
I love birds so....
Below is the close up photo I took and will attempt to paint.
Wish me luck!
Remember to...
Savor the Day!

It does make a difference.:) I like it! Great still shot. Wishing you luck! :)
I love watercolor painting but that still life you chose looks seriously hard! Can't wait to see your painting of it - I'm impressed that you'd even try! Thanks for the visit - oh, and I'd happily send some of our rain your way; we have WAY too much!
The addition of that bit really made a difference--lovely watercolour :)
I do love that still life setup your instructor did--at a quick glance, I thought the flowers were already painted on the canvas :)
Thanks for stopping by to say hello.
Loving the water in this painting and good luck with the still life. x
I love the (silver birch?) trees on the right. The bark looks really well textured.
You are doing some wonderful painting!
The still life set up is a little busy, so it's good you chose a portion of it, I think. Looking forward to seeing the results.
Thanks for the birthday wishes!
I particularly like the bark on the silver birch trees to the right
you are so brave! watercolor is a demanding medium! good work!
Delightful creations ~ great watercolor ~ thanks, namaste, ^_^
Your landscape turned out really nice. I love the ink pouring work -- I've done that before, too, and I always love the great textures you get. It sounds like you're having a lot of fun with your painting. Good for you!
i love your watercolor. i went back and looked and you're right-- those two little changes made a big difference. you did an amazing job of reflecting the light on the water!
Your landscape is great. I can't wait to see the next one from your still life photo. Happy PPF
beautiful landscape I love the reflection! Good luck with your still life.
Yvonne, I think your landscape is beautiful.
Beautiful work! Good luck with your still life. :) Happy PPF!
Stunning landscape- can't believe it is your first one! Looking forward to seeing your bird one next!
love your style. thanks for stopping by!
Yvonne-
I am so happy to meet you - thanks so much for stopping by~~
Your watercolors are wonderful - that is my most favorite style of painting. I am so envious of people who have the talent to paint. My Mother was a wonderful painter - but NONE of that talent was passed on to me. The way you blend your colors is just beautiful~~
xo,
Vicki
I'm impressed about the ink pouring instructions. It's so wet and humid here, it would take two weeks for the canvas to dry (grin). Since I can't sketch, draw, or paint, I am so in love with your watercolor landscape. Gorgeous!
Wish I could hop on over and have you teach me a thing or too. I've recently bought a nature watercolor book along with supplies because I have wanted to try and teach myself to paint for a while. I used to draw, but haven't done so in quite some time. It is something that will require much practice, that's for sure. I will never be able to create anything as beautiful as you though. I just would like to be able to do something, anything small. :) Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Tammy
Beautiful landscape! I'm intrigued with the ink pouring, and look forward to seeing what you create.
Cheers!
Wow for you water on the landscape! IT is so well done. Can't wait to see your ink pourings - I just got acquainted with the technique this week!
You are an amazing artist, wow, the whole composition is impressive, thanks for sharing your beautiful work!
Wonderful watercolor! It's great to get instruction, it's often the little tweaks that make a difference. The still life looks quite interesting!
A wonderful landscape you have painted, keep on doing that! :) I'm learning too, every day.. both painting landscapes and drawing and painting portraits, so fun! :)
And a gorgeous heading, wow! :)
