Enchantments and oddments...

Saturday morning my DH made this table.
(enchantment)
The base is metal and was found in a dumpster,
by his father.
(oddment)

We bought an 18 in. wood round,
attached it after staining it.
 (enchantment)
The top sort of looks burnt.
(oddment)
But we like it
(enchantment)
-------------------------------------

My son came to visit,
(enchantment)
so he and his dad wanted to go fishing...
no boat, no wading,
just relaxing on the pier,
(enchantment)
on the Laguna Salada,
near our home.
It was very calm waters.
(oddment)

 This fish was a keeper,
but it ended up being
catch and release day,
Lucky little black drum.
(enchantment)

 ...watching, waiting...
(enchantment)

 ...twinkling stars on the water...
(enchantment)

...rust and barnacles...
(enchantment)

...wooden pier texture.
(enchantment)

This is one of the bait shops
that has been open since the 1940's.
(enchantment)
How it survived the many hurricanes,
I will never know.
(oddment)
I thought this photo may make a good painting.
Lots of character.
(enchantment)
_______________

Then at home we were entertained by the birds...
(enchantment)
Cooling off on a warm day...
(enchantment)

Just one hummingbird?
(oddment)
...he thought he would have the feeders to himself,
(enchantment)

...then the other birds (orioles, about a dozen) showed up.
(oddment)

Cute little bird, waiting his turn at the feeders.
(enchantment)
He hung like this for the longest...
(oddment)

So fun to watch so many.
(enchantment)

Hope your day is filled with
enchantments and oddments.
It makes for an interesting day.

Savor the Day!
Yvonne

Rust and barnacles........the sunshine in the water...and that table is to die for!!!!We are trying to plant a hummingbird attracting garden outside the back door....hopefully the white tail deer will not view this as a salad bar! Have a great week! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

What an enchanting post. Nothing odd about it, either.

Love the table, love the water, want a palm tree (with dead fronds removed, of course) like the one next to the bait shack.

A very interesting day and a very interesting post as well I might add. I do love that rustic looking cabin by the sea. Yes, what a great painting it will make. Birds, new antiques to redo..very nostalgic and charming post Yvonne. Makes me want to be there where it is warm and wonderful instead of here in our rain in Virginia.

Looks like a perfect day - and a lucky (enchanted) one for the fish :)

Love the table. We have an iron base somewhat like that one that holds our patio umbrella

What a day, and you used the word "oddment" many times, love that one. Had to giggle on it's first use, took it to mean your DHs father is an oddments. Lol, I corrected my crazy skewed view of the world right away. Fun, Yvonne!
